Holy Trinity, Meldreth - Bells Appeal

Preparing for installation of new beams, Monday 6th July 2015

Twelve new pockets had been cut in the walls for the new foundation beams. The four lower pockets needed concrete pads cast in the bottom of them, to lay the beams on; it was vital that these were all in the same horizontal plane, as well as being the correct distances apart. The pockets for the old beams have now been filled in, using some of the material from the new ones, and another pre-existing hole in the stonework has been repaired.

1. Empty bell chamber with new flooring

2. Making pockets for new beams

3. Pockets for new beams - and the previous ones filled in

4. Using a laser level to check heights
